Obstructed labour is a leading cause ofmaternal deaths worldwide. The partograph is a paper-basedlabour-monitoring tool designed to support clinicians inidentifying prolonged or obstructed labour. However, compliancewith the paper tool is negligible in large because of thecomplexity of the form and inadequate training on its proper use.We have tackled several barriers to partograph use, by creating aninnovative mobile application, which provides decision support,automatic graphing, alarms, and reminders prompting clinicians toconduct patient exams. Piloted in a formal usability study inDelhi, India, the study revealed positive feedback, primarily inregards to timeliness of exams and automatic graphing.This application is populated with demo data to showcase how itwould look and be used for real patients, as an example of thefeatures of an app currently in development by Dimagi, powered bythe application CommCare. It is not meant to be used to providecare to real patients, and Dimagi can't be held liable forunintended use of the demo. Interactive quiz/training tool: an instructorcan use Quizzi to pose questions to a class via SMS, and receiveand tabulate their responses in real-time. Think "clickers" butwithout the infrastructure and cost.Each student/trainee uses their personal phone to exchange SMSwith the instructor's Android phone. An instructor asks a questionto the class, optionally also sending the question to the students'phones via SMS. Students reply with their answer (either free-textor multiple choice), and the answers are displayed in real-time inthe app.This allows the instructor to gauge understanding and increaseengagement.Question sets can be loaded from the memory card, or askquestions off-the-cuff.
